todaz i was at basel and looked at the van gogh exhibition and art basel. i was reallz touched bz van gogh's story and the paintings he did when he was hospitalized in st remy...the other paintings were beautiful but there is something about the ones he did in st remy in 1889 that really moved me. even tho they were during his most tormented time...i dont feel any of his negative energy in the work...the swirls and the wide brush strokes are so endearing,,,as if the landscape were seen thru a childs eyes...starry night wasnt there but thats my fav and also olive trees and wheat field from the view of st pauls hospital or something like that. he is my fav painter i think.
